Sustainable Energy Solutions
Dalkia delivers all the expertise and innovative solutions of the Veolia Environnement Group, which has made sustainable development a cornerstone of its businesses.
Business Model
Dalkia's principal business activity is that of a technical services based operating engineer.Dalkia has a unique capability of integrating the whole energy value chain, from energy sourcing strategy through to best-in-class demand side services and management practices. Making sure efficiency is optimised at every step of the value chain is crucial to its activity, aiming at achieving a carbon footprint reduction strategy within an economically controlled environment.
Dalkia's business model is also different from many other EPC companies. It operates more as an energy utility company rather than an equipment supply company.

Partnering for long-term progress
Dalkia forges a long term partnership that allows it to anticipate requirements and tailor services to changes in businesses and operations. Backed by performance-based contracts, these partnerships help Dalkia to continuously improve customer outcomes. The average contracts durations across Dalkia portfolio is over 7 years. However, it has a large portion of its business operating under long term performance contracts of between 10 and 25 years.Challenges

Addressing the Challenge of Climate Change
Dalkia is the company with the largest number of compliance trading sites in the world's largest emissions trading scheme (220 sites in the European CO2 Emissions Trading Scheme).Since the beginning of the 21st century, individual nations and groups of nations have developed their own domestic trading mechanisms to help them comply with their Kyoto targets. Dalkia has been a pioneer in the voluntary and compliance CO2 markets, trading significant volumes of CO2 on behalf of many of its customers, firstly within the UK (voluntary UKETS in 2002), and then within Europe (compliance EUETS in 2005).
Dalkia leverages this global capability for the benefit of its customers.
